If I’m leading China, i’d block the chip as well.

To force domestic innovation to catch up with the west and to remove over reliance on US fearing restrictions.

After all, US today is not the same as they were for the past few decades; i won’t be surprised if US started restricting sales of high end GPUs even to their European allies to force deals.

Exactly, you get a short-term deficiency in compute power, but in a decade everyone will know this was the right move.

You force your country to catch up from being slightly behind and force them to develop the technology and innovate.

China will parallel comute as the CEO Of NVDIA rightly said

That china can simply produce more inferior chips and just use more energy.. they have abundant solar

People in west don't realize how dirt cheap solar is due to import restrictions

But in Asia we know, for example a full 10kw system is barely 3000$ in rest of the world

Maybe talk to Claude or Gemini and get some more knowledge on the topic. What you think and reality are not even close. This isn't something you can just innovate on. This is borderline sci-fi tech. And China doesn't 'innovate' anything, ever. They copy and make it extra flashy with a lower price tag.

I get it. I’d rather have Xi be our President any day.
