Sourcing golf balls
User seeks advice on sourcing bulk golf balls from Alibaba.com suppliers for resale.
Planning to buy golf balls in bulk for resale. Have searched on Alibaba and found dozens of suppliers whose prices range from around fifty cents per ball for basic two piece balls up to two dollars for urethane covered tour level balls. Also seen listings for recycled balls and logo overruns. Not sure which suppliers are actually reliable. Some have good ratings but the prices seem too low while others have been on the platform for years but have limited transaction history. For those who have sourced golf balls from Alibaba before, what did you look for in a supplier? Any issues with quality or shipping delays? Also curious if custom printing is worth the extra cost for a small reseller.
The massive price gap is normal, but the real risk with used or overrun golf balls is that scammers often take water-logged range balls, re-spray them, and sell them as "mint." If the core is degraded, the ball veers off-target and your resale brand is dead instantly.
Never trust Alibaba badges. Need to check their legal registry; if it says "Trading" instead of "Manufacturing/Processing," they are just middlemen bagging factory scraps.
Before wire-transferring any money for bulk stock, always run a strict desk verification on their corporate records and plan a pre-shipment quality check to test the actual balls that are shipped.
Well if you can sell them in bulk or even have a plan, I could source you from Sialkot, Pakistan. It’s one of the biggest sports manufacturing hub in the world,
I think I can help you. I can provide you with a series of samples and prices, and then you can choose the ones you want, and then make a bulk purchase. If needed, message me privately.
Alibaba can work well for golf balls if you focus on suppliers with verified export history, not just badges or low prices. Always request samples from multiple factories, test durability and compression consistency, and use Trade Assurance. Custom printing makes sense once your resale volume grows and customers coming in.
most reliable move i do is i take an agent. I ask him to do the sourcing. He gets the samples. I choose the quality I want. Then I sent my order from Alibaba to the agent. The agent send me the order. (shipping much cheaper this way). Let me know if you need more info cause I did it many times ;)
Easier said than done a ton of agents scam
??? I'm doing it so I don't see where is the scam
Not sure about how much you are planning to order but one of our client order 200 and the custom printing was free Rest get are good forwarder not a cheap one and you will not have any customs issues or shipment delays
Bulk? I got 2
I understand your concern — in the golf ball market on Alibaba, the price difference is usually due to different product types (new Surlyn balls, urethane tour balls, recycled/lake balls, or factory overruns) and also whether the supplier is a real manufacturer or a trading company.
Here are a few key points experienced buyers usually focus on:
- Supplier type
- Real factories are more stable in quality and pricing
- Trading companies may have inconsistent bulk quality compared to samples
- Recycled vs new balls
- Recycled/lake balls are cheaper but inconsistent in performance
- New OEM balls are more stable for resale business
- Order history is more important than rating
- Long platform history alone is not enough
- Repeat export orders matter more
- Custom printing
- Worth it if you have stable volume (usually 500–1000+ pcs per design)
- Not ideal for very small resellers due to setup cost
If you want, I can help you filter reliable suppliers and compare real factory options based on your target market and budget, so you can avoid low-quality or misrepresented listings
