Help wirh Sauna Sourcing
User seeks a sourcing agent in China to verify factories and negotiate prices for saunas purchased on Alibaba.
Hi there,
Been buying infrared and barrel saunas off Alibaba for my middle east store.
Looking for someone in China (Foshan/Guangzhou ideal) who knows the sauna manufacturing scene and can help me:
•Understand real factory pricing so I negotiate from facts
•Verify a supplier is an actual factory, not a middleman
Open to paying a sourcing agent if you do it properly. Tell me how you charge and what you’ve sourced before.

Just so you know, of all saunas, those two are the worst kind.
Care to explain, we’ve had good experience so far. What have your experiences been ? Would love to hear on what issues to look out for
For barrels it's practically impossible to get a bench above the oven, so the heat gradient results in cool feet and a hot head / uneven heat throughout. Finns would call it bad löyly. If the sauna is powered by electricity, it can somewhat be mitigated with a fan to even out the heat.
For the ir saunas, it's a similar thing, the heat is kinda weird compared to proper saunas.
That said, any sauna is better than no sauna :)
Pro tip: To ensure the manufacturer met your specific standards, engage the services of an independend quality inspection services provider.

I'm based in China and can help you with this. A few things I'd check if I were you before hiring anyone:On factory pricing: Ask to see their raw material cost breakdown for the past 3 months. Wood prices in Foshan have been volatile — if their quote hasn't changed in 6 months, they're not quoting from real costs.On verifying factory vs middleman: Have them video call you from their production floor and show you the fire extinguisher inspection dates and worker break time board. These are things middlemen can't stage. I wrote about this recently — it's the small details that give them away.I don't have a sauna background specifically, but I've spent 13 years working with factories across different industries in China. The verification process is the same regardless of product.You mentioned wanting someone in Foshan/Guangzhou — I can do that.
