Glad to see Nio is fighting back and taking legal action instead of just ignoring it.
"Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) has filed a report with the police, alleging a recent surge in online rumor-mongering and smear campaigns targeting the company.
The Chinese EV maker said in a statement on Friday that it has secured evidence of the infringement.
The company said the police have accepted the case, and it will resolutely take legal action to hold the infringers accountable."

My question is why? Why is there so much animosity towards this company?
In my opinion, there are 4 primary sources of hate for Nio.
- People who bought it when it was WAY overvalued, lost a ton of money, and are now just bitter.
- Tesla fanboys who want to see nothing succeed other than Tesla.
- People who just hate Chinese stocks.
- People who damn well Nio is going to be one of the most successful and profitable EV companies in the world for a very long time, so they want the stock to stay as low as possible for as long as possible so that they can buy as much as possible for as cheap as possible.
Just my opinion and observations over the last several years.
Can I add a 5? The toxic NIO fanboy. And the community of shareholders who don’t care at all about the driving experience.
When I post a legitimate comment like “hey why does NIO Firefly export vehicles not have a front-facing camera and consequently no 360 camera view?” I’m expecting the NIO community to come in with supporting commentary and visibility to this domain.
Instead I get downvoted to heck.
So why, as someone who wanted to buy a Firefly and is still keen and even working to build a local community when it opens in my country, am I being silenced for my curiosity?
I am consequently less likely to buy AND to believe people who shit talk NIO because yeah, NIO fans on forums can be absolute assholes! And none of them seem to care about what it’s like to drive
