Just reading below, and maybe there are 20HC containers on your route. I'm in Australia & they are not common here.

DDP can work well, but for a full 20HQ shipment it's worth reviewing all options before deciding. Final costs can vary significantly. DM sent

Hello Sir,

If you have a company in USA and EIN active, suggest you to do DDU traditional freight service currently.

Please DM me if you need an FCL DDU quote beforehand.

Thanks.

Please find one in your country, (in your city is better) and talk with email and ask all the price details. I am from Türkiye, that is why I do not know details about USA but probably you should have customs broker as well. Please talk all the price details to not encounter additional charges.

Also, make sure that get marine cargo insurance.

(Besides, I haven’t personally worked with DDP before, so I don’t have direct experience with it (I generally use Fob or exw). But as far as I know, with real DDP, the seller should be responsible for the shipment until delivery, including customs clearance, import duties, taxes and local charges.

Still, I think you should be careful and confirm everything in writing before proceeding. Some suppliers may say “DDP” but later exclude taxes, customs fees or destination charges. It would be better to ask clearly whether the price includes all import duties, sales tax, customs clearance, local charges and delivery to your address in Florida, with no additional payment required upon arrival.)

DDP - Don't forget Tariffs!. Make sure any contract made with the supplier nominates DDP as the shipping incoterm. If DDP is nominated in the Contract and the DDP shipping cost is included in the total contract value, there is no way for the supplier to wiggle out at any later stage, should a dispute arise and arbitration is required.

DAP is the incoterm which excludes taxes, customs fees. receiving port processing fees, detention costs, and demurrage costs, but includes local delivery to your contractual delivery point in Florida.

Hey we can help. We are one of the most reliable transportation companies in the US.

It honestly depends on the dims and how they fit, but 25cbm. If you think you need a 20HC, I'm guessing you might have packages that are too tall to fit in the container doors of a 20GP? In that case you would need a 40HC.

Hi there! Great to see you're preparing for your furniture shipment to Florida — I specialize in exactly this kind of 20HQ container move from Foshan, China, and can walk you through all your options clearly.

First, to answer your question: While some factories offer DDP shipping, working directly with a dedicated freight forwarder like me gives you more control, better transparency on costs, and a single point of contact for every step (from factory pickup to delivery at your store).

Here are your main options, tailored to furniture shipments:

  1. Full DDP (Door-to-Door, all-inclusive)

I’ll handle factory pickup in Foshan, ocean freight, US customs clearance, duties & taxes, and final delivery to your Florida store. No hidden fees, no extra work for you — just receive the goods. This is the most hands-off option, perfect for store owners who want to avoid logistics hassle.

  1. FOB + Forwarder (Split Responsibility)

The factory handles delivery to the Foshan port, then I take over from there (ocean freight, customs, delivery). This is good if you already have a preferred factory shipping arrangement, but want better rates on the US side.

  1. DAP (Delivered-at-Place, duties not included)

I handle everything up to delivery at your store, but you take care of US customs duties and taxes. This works if you have a US customs broker you already work with.

Since you're shipping furniture (which can be bulky/over-sized), I’ll also include free details on loading tips, container protection, and transit times for your route.

If you can share a quick bit more info (like approximate cargo value, total volume, and the exact Florida zip code for delivery), I can send you a full, itemized quote today with all costs broken down. No pressure — just clear, actionable options to help you decide what’s best for your store.

Let me know what you think!

No problem. I'm in Foshan. The 20hq container can hold approximately 27 cubic meters of furniture. It would be better if you could find your own freight forwarder. They can assist you with the inspection at the factory and the transportation. If you need it, they can give you suggestions. Moreover, nowadays the shipping fees are quite high, and the shipping location also needs to be ordered.
