BYD is a great car. But NIO with its new affordable cars, and luxury SUV's with Yao Ming partnership, and most of all battery swap can make a dent.
His point is Nio's time to market is so slow that by the time they are ready, the quota would have already been maxed out by BYD. And I won't count on Nio being successful in Canada given it has pretty much the worst overseas expansion track record among all Chinese EV makers.

Canada is nice but NIO really should be growing in the Middle East..They have the partnerships and the Sheikhs have more money than Canadians.
With how much real-estate is in Canada and how much land is even available, where are you putting these swap stations?
So, some people don't understand that while NIO does have the ability to swap batteries, they can also be charged, just like other EV's. They don't need other countries right now, and will go international after they have proven themselves to be profitable in the largest EV country in the world, china. They are selling about 30,000 cars a month in China, no need to sell a few dozen or hundred in Canada. Sometime soon, NIO won't have to hope to get into other countries, those countries will be begging to have NIO come to them. Mic drop.
