Pivot in business model. Google started issuing shares. AI buildout is expensive. At least Alibaba has the balance sheet to fund it on their own for now.

If alibaba has 100 years to purchase back stock at very low prices it will be extremely bullish for shareholders.

Yeah they basically stopped buybacks when they started going balls deep in AI and instant delivery CAPEX
