Channels you recommend?

Investor summaryNeutral

New investor seeking recommendations for reliable, data-driven stock market news sources and analysis channels.

Post body

I’m still pretty new to learning about the stock market and economics, and I’m trying to find a few reliable sources to follow regularly.

What YouTubers, channels, podcasts, or news sources do you personally trust for stock market news and analysis? I’m looking for people who explain what’s happening in the market using actual data, economic reports, earnings, and facts rather than pure speculation, hype, or clickbait predictions.

I’d also be interested in hearing why you trust them and how you use their content in your own investing or trading decisions. TYIA!

I have two in my mind at the moment:

  1. The Plain Bagel (YT): Explains investing concepts, economic reports, and market events in a balanced, evidence-based way.
  1. Patrick Boyle (YT): Great breakdowns of market events, risk, hedge funds, and financial history with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Ben Felix! The Rational Reminder/his YT channel have lots of interesting talks on markets, risk, wealth management, financial planning etc - it's not flashy clickbsiy, but it is empirical, which I appreciate

Norges Bank Investment Management, it's the channel of the Norwegian State Fund.

Inside China Business - great channel from an American guy doing business and living in China for 15years

Asian Boss - great channel about Asia and business

What's going on with shipping - 80% of international trade is done by sea and I invest in shipping stocks. Best channel to stay informed about major developments

Aswath Damadoran - pretty nerdy and detailed financial analysis of various things

FINAiUS - great documentaries about big businesses

All my other relevant channels are not in English, so no further recommendations. Patrick Boyle was already mentioned.

What shipping companies are you invested in. I'm in TNK and GSL.

I like Felix & Friends (Goat Academy) the most. He has a lot of experience of how the system is working and is always explaining that very well.

Check out Patrick Boyle and Gary Stevenson. Both have YouTube channels.
