Curing cancer... but with the right company?

Investor summaryBullish

New investor asks if RVMD is a long-term value play, citing breakthrough cancer drug status and self-commercialization plans.

Bull points
  • FDA granted breakthrough therapy designation, accelerating the regulatory pathway.
  • Company plans full self-commercialization, potentially capturing higher margins than licensing deals.
  • Positive clinical sentiment and scientific backing for RAS-targeting mechanism.
Bear points
  • Post contains factual hallucinations (referencing ASCO 2026 conference which has not occurred).
  • Biotech stocks are inherently high-risk and rarely fit traditional 'value investing' criteria due to lack of current earnings.
  • Reliance on social media anecdotes rather than rigorous financial analysis or peer-reviewed data.
Post body

I'm assessing a company, but very new to all this and want to know if I can mention this to others as a "long-term" investment possibility, or if there is something yet to be developed, some hurdle to be overcome first, in their financial setup. Apparently Revolution Medicines (RVMD) is going full send on scaling after a drug that they've committed to full self-commercialization of.

The FDA already fast-tracked their drug availability pipeline with special "breakthrough" status.

"Curing cancer" might be a meme of an unreachable or far-out goal, but from what I've seen of the science and clinicians reactions on facebook and in video reviews,(or in the standing ovation at the ASCO 2026 conference when the findings were presented. )... this... might REALLY be what becomes a cure to cancer for some forms of cancer in the near future (I'm thinking next 1-4 years.

Since I'm new to this space of stocks, I'm wondering if a company like this can at some point be considered a "value" stock soon due to long term growth potential with unique cures. Say, going from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly as they scale and then grow wings to fly into every medical institution with an expanding product line (according to scientists expectations based on the science of RAS-targeting).
