Day 4 Update: Letting AI manage a Robinhood portfolio
Author tracks Day 4 of an AI-managed $1k Robinhood portfolio, which is down 11.4% and just added RGTI.
- AI algorithm maintains long positions and actively adds new exposure in quantum computing.
- Portfolio is currently down 11.41% following a market washout with limited remaining buying power.
Last Wednesday I started an experiment: I put $1,000 into a fresh Robinhood account for an AI to manage.
On Day 4 Julius opted to continue holding all longs. After a very cautious day of no moves on Friday, Julius opened up a new position in RGTI - building its first stake in quantum.
Day 4, 10:42am PT: $885.87
P/L: -$114.13 / -11.41%
Positions:
- 1 share AMD
- 3 shares INOD
- 3 shares RGTI
Cash/buying power: $21.17
I'll be interested to see what Julius does next. After Friday's washout and with the market wavering today, plus not having much buying power - i wonder how it takes all of these variables into consideration. Stay tuned for more updates.
As a reminder, this experiment is done with real money, with positions disclosed on every update, losses included, no hidden trades, and all trades made by Julius AI. This is not financial advice.
lol
we're having fun with it 🤷♂️
This is epic. Keep sharing this journey!
glad you're enjoying 🙂 ill keep the updates coming!
Keep us posted, OP!
Is this wallstreetsbets?
no this is patrick
I like this. Do you just converse with it and do what it says? Or what's the process?
essentially i have an automation that runs on Julius AI with a custom agent that is designed to instruct julius on how to build a portfolio. each day i manually take the recommendation and use it to make a trade.
as i build more trust in the system ill connect directly to the Robinhood MCP!
You should definitely connect it
This is interesting.
glad that you're liking it 🤝

Give Julius the ability to post in r/wallstreetbets
Few weeks from now maybe he’s gonna post „fml lost it all“
It’s a fun experiment. Personally I‘d hook the AI up to data synthesized from let’s say Kavout and then re-evaluated. So that Julius can reason against another AI trained for investment.
I like these experiments.
im the intermediary for now! but this is intentional. i actually have alpaca API keys that i could use on Julius but they have their own proprietary financial data sources on there too so it's not needed while im only running this on a daily cadence.
does alpaca also allow your automation build and run python models in a sandboxed env? just curious as i haven't explored their automations
