spacex ipo retail access looks unusual

Investor summaryNeutral

Discussion on retail broker access and allocation chances for the upcoming SpaceX IPO.

Post body

been looking into the broker side of the spacex ipo and one thing stands out: retail allocation looks much bigger than what most large ipos usually allow.

a few brokers currently offering access:

  • Fidelity - lowered the minimum account requirement for this ipo
  • Robinhood / SoFi - no big minimums, but flipping restrictions apply
  • Schwab - still has a pretty high barrier compared to others

important detail: submitting an IOI is only a request, not a guaranteed allocation. if demand stays high, most people probably end up with partial fills or no shares at all.

curious if anyone here has had decent luck getting ipo allocations through retail brokers recently, or if most of them still end up heavily scaled back.
