Thanks Nokia
WSBer took a massive loss on Nokia options after NVDA's 6G chip announcement changed the fundamentals, prompting an exit.
- NVDA's announcement of its own 6G chip fundamentally changes the competitive landscape for Nokia.
- The position suffered a massive drawdown, dropping $400k in a single day and 25-30% subsequently.
Had a baby yesterday so didn’t want to keep stressing/monitoring this position. Sold at a good time since my account would have been down another 25-30% yesterday and today.
Mods also said I had to realize the loss to post, so there’s also proof of the position being sold.
Used Margin, and options. Peaked around $1.2M, dropped 400k alone on Friday.
Would have held the position, but the fundamentals have changed due to NVDA announcement their own 6G chip, and I’m no longer confident.
Anyways, biggest loss by far, and probably could have salvaged it, but I’m fine with taking the loss to step away for a couple of weeks. Still up from 300-700k YTD. Only real regret is buying all of the options in my TFSA, since those are what got hit hard, and it’s not tax deductible. TFSA alone went from 750k to 470k

Imagine if this turns into another paper hands Intel seller and NOK peaks at 30 in the future
“No notable products since the 90s” is a wild way to describe a company whose equipment is currently moving a decent chunk of the world’s internet traffic 😂
Nokia make tires right now, strong tires
Ai wifi tires
Let’s eat, grandma.
Let’s eat grandma.
With shares and 2027s. Like the guy had all the time in the world and sells when the entire market is dipping
NOK net sales grew 4% yoy.
In an AI market where 20% yoy is considered absolute shit
im reading puts but inverting to calls
Why would you sell your nok? even if nvidia develop chip. They need the help of NOK, that's why they invested $1B on NOK. and insiders buying nok stock.
I got lotta options in the red, what makes you think its goin past 20$ soon? I hope so brother
I didn’t know people with Down syndrome could have babies actually, with the whole 3 chromosome thing.
Might wanna get a paternity test done, regard.
If you google Nokia, your post comes up 😂
Yea wtf. I’m up over 100% on Nokia in the last year or so.
Yeah OP is a regard. NOK is a long hold and the fundamentals have not changed at all.
I have read a few things about Nokia being well-positioned right now a while back, but forget exactly why
I think the best thing if don't sell and close. I think every things will back as King.
Damn, how do I get my TFSA to 500k like you ?
So you made a ton of money on it and then sold it for profit but not max profit? Am I understanding this correctly?
Congrats OP. Money will be made again. Spend this very very special time with you newborn. This is such a precious time.
Looking like my losses

I already made my money and some on Nokia investments. This is certainly one where I withdraw when it goes up then buy more when it goes back down. But I would have made so much more if I would have bought 2 years ago and left it the fuck alone.
Congrats on the baby.. I probably would’ve just kept the 1.2 compounding and left the options trading for a while….
Well uh good luck!
That loss is worth a big mansion in some asian country
But just think if it went up, you'd have $2 million😎
You are still up and in profit. You can’t time it perfectly so forget about the top. Just look at your profit
Ah it’s NOK so it’s 1/10th of the value
no tears on the casino carpets please
Why tf would you bet on Nokia
Don't worry wait for it to get real low but again and you will make your money back
Lol CRA will be happy
you points for hanging in there
Imagine putting so much risk into one market, with a baby along the way.
🤯
Full port into one play
When to sell?
Still massively up. So congrats
Lolz and the only reason I’m laughing is because I’m right there with you, just other stocks.

Are you worried that the CRA will tax your TFSA anyway since you are actively options trading
sigh.. again NOKIA never made their own chip; Marvell has been Nokia's primary custom ASIC partner for the ReefShark chipset family used in 5G baseband/RAN compute.
Broadcom supplies merchant silicon (StrataXGS/Trident-class switch-routing chips and some DSP/PHY components) used in Nokia's IP/optical networking and parts of its mobile transport and switching infrastructure.
- Operators have not yet monetizing 5G - do you think they'll spend on the costly NVIDIA chips as they are asking for demonstrration on the value revenure generation. even if they spend then NOkia is a beneficiary:Nokia's AirScale portfolio is being adapted to run on Nvidia's ARC/Grace platforms as an option alongside its custom silicon, not instead of it. Nokia gets to sell into hyperscaler-adjacent telco deployments (AI factories, edge AI, private 5G/6G for enterprise) where Nvidia's brand pulls budget toward Nokia hardware.
- The photonics/optical angle is more exposed to upside, not downside. If AI-RAN drives more compute to the network edge and more east-west/AI-cluster traffic through telco infrastructure, that's incremental demand for the optical interconnect layer — directly benefiting Nokia's Infinera/photonics business (San Jose fab, co-packaged optics positioning). Nvidia's Spectrum-X and AI networking pushes are creating the optical bandwidth demand that Nokia's photonics arm is positioned to capture.
The nvidia 6G chips should not effect nokia really actually might help them because nvidia wants to make the hardware for it but nokia is already developing the software side of things and nvidia and nokia do work together on that. Also it is very likely that nokia will end up owning a shit ton of the 6G patents just like with 5G
Shares and January 2027. Why such a rush to sell? I bet NOK to 20+ in 6 months
