good/important etf's to wheel 3:2 csp:cc?
User seeks affordable, high-IV ETFs suitable for the Wheel strategy for long-term holding, mentioning SOXQ, LIT, NASA, SPRT, SILJ, and SOXL.
- The Wheel strategy (CSP/CC) allows investors to generate consistent premium income while gradually building long-term positions.
- Targeting specific sector ETFs with high IV can yield better premium returns compared to broad market indices.
- Certain leveraged or highly volatile ETFs may carry structural risks that make them unsuitable for long-term holding.
- Commodity-based ETFs like silver face uncertain long-term fundamentals, increasing the risk of holding assigned shares.
looking for some worthwhile, worth owning, etfs that aren't too expensive (missed the smh train) and also have high enough iv to make it worth looking into for wheeling. csp into 300 shares, covered call off 200, build up ownership 100 shares at a time. so far, my main targets that are both affordable and barely volatile enough are soxq, lit, nasa, sprt. (honorable mention silj, but idk wtf silver's gonna do longterm). you could do a 2:1 ratio and not deploy as much capital, whatever. i know a lot of you wheel soxl, and some say its not advisable to own (still think so?) but for this discussion im interested in wheeling etfs that i'd want to hold longterm.
IBIT
Wouldn’t wheel ETFs , better of just DCA. IV won’t be high for most.
