ES9 or Xiaopeng GX

Trying to decide between xiaopeng GX and Nio ES9
Hi guys I live in Shanghai and with two kids (one new born one 3 year old) and two dogs (70 pounds and 20 pounds) I’m looking to buy my first car in Shanghai.
DiDi just won’t do anymore.
I’m having a hard time deciding between the GX and the Nio ES9. I can only buy pure EV due to license plate regulations.
I test drove both and:
\\- ES9 definitely more luxurious interior, better suspension, better turning, steering and driving feel. Overall a noticeably smoother ride
\\- GX is around 150k rmb cheaper, it’s 340k final cost versus 580k final cost of the es9
\\- GX has a much more practical spacing especially the back trunk and an overall decent drive but not satisfying as I can only get the mid trim with lower horse power as their top trim is all backed up til end of year or beginning of next year
Now what I am need your opinion on
\\- the looks I prefer ES9 as the GX is good but a bit tacky as a Land Rover clone
\\- I heard the automated safety measures are much better on the Nio as it has lidar whereas GX only has cameras which won’t work well under heavy rain or fog
To be honest I live centrally and honestly most the time the car will be used is under rain if I’m driving within the city as that is my biggest pain point now as ride hail is incredibly inconvenient during rain. Other use cases is driving further out for day trips or vets and the occasional Hangzhou visit.
What don you guys think? Are you satisfied withe Nio build quality? Do you think the lidar and better suspension is worth the extra 150k rmb?
