I think people are missing why SpaceX could be worth $2T

Investor summaryBullish

Author argues SpaceX is building space infrastructure and could reach a $2T valuation, comparing its potential to past tech giants.

Bull points
  • SpaceX is creating the essential infrastructure and trade routes for the emerging space economy.
  • Falling launch costs and increasing government and commercial satellite spending indicate a massive, growing market.
  • The company controlling the most reliable and cheapest access to space will capture immense value.
Post body

Everyone talks about SpaceX like it’s just a rocket company.

But what if it’s really building the roads and highways to space?

Back when people first crossed the oceans, most couldn’t imagine how valuable those trade routes would become. The same thing happened with railroads, oil pipelines, and the internet.

The YouTuber Maxinomics made great video about a good point: people struggle to put a value on space because there isn’t a huge space economy yet.

But what if we’re already past the point of no return?

Governments are spending billions. Satellites are everywhere. Launch costs keep falling. More companies are building businesses around space every year.

If space becomes a major part of the economy in the future, the company controlling the cheapest and most reliable access to it could be worth way more than people think.

Maybe $2T sounds crazy today.

Then again, so did Amazon, Apple, and Nvidia at one point.

What am I missing?
