And point out everything meaningless about it? Some guy did some ATM bw with maybe these tickets. Some of those did ok, but we really don’t know which ones or what ok means. Meaningless.
My guess is you didn't spend the time to do this as suggested in the original post:
"See the original for detailed supporting schedules."
The sub only allows one image in an original post and none in a response.
I post regularly, and I'm hard pressed to know of anyone posting with more transparency; you're welcome to follow along, but a) this sub doesn't allow cross posting and b) I don't want to cross the boundary of 'self promotion' and c) given my extensive posting in the original sub, I'm not about to duplicate all of that effort here.
If you have any substantive questions/comments that can't be answered by taking the time to read up, I'm happy to respond, but I won't go into depth here on what I've already covered elsewhere.
My guess is you are locked in your head on how useful this is and are assuming everyone needs a primer on buy writes. This isn’t a stats class or basic math, and only the desperate are going to chase links to somehow make sense of your post. Transparency when there’s nothing to see is meaningless no matter how often you post it.
Cool.
I mean I find this an interesting exercise to watch. It's a series of posts showing a dude selling premium consistently according to a fixed set of rules and the results of doing just that. It seems appropriate for a sub dedicated to selling time value.
That makes more sense when there are no shares; something would have already happened to cause assignment. What happens over the weekend must be assessed Monday morning to determine the best course of action. Also, the scenario is not a buywrite. While those contracts expire worthless or are rolled for profit, the bw is still in play.
The comparison to buy-and-hold is the important part to keep showing.
For a buy/write campaign, I would track three things separately: premium collected, underlying movement you gave up, and downside avoided. The weekly result can look clean, but the strategy is really about whether the premium compensates for capped upside and inventory risk across many weeks.
I do that; did you click through to the link suggested in the original post?
"See the original for detailed supporting schedules."
While all answers should be obvious by a reading of the supporting schedules, I am simplifying the reporting so it's more "ELI5".
This is a ELI5 revision for the week.
Oh, sorry if I misled you: I don't do 5 DTE ATM with PMCC, I just meant that I do run PMCC from time to time.
With regards to the 5 DTE ATM spreads, I'm still dialing that in with some small plays. I'll start posting when I get comfortable enough with the process.
That's excellent tracking and results! Seeing such consistent outperformance against both buy-and-hold and the broader market, especially with a defined strategy like the 5 DTE ATM Buy/Write, is a strong testament to disciplined options trading. The ability to generate significant premiums while keeping all positions unassigned for the week also speaks to a well-managed approach. Keep up the solid work!
Thanks! 👍️
I'm certainly the beneficiary of a cooperative market!
Make zero sense without positions.
How are you selecting the stock tickers and the strikes to write?
