A genuine question for anyone willing to offer any judgement-free advice
Novice investor with $1000 seeks long-term advice and wonders if they missed the opportunity to invest in SpaceX.
Simply put, I only have $1000 I am able to invest at the moment. I probably blew my chance at SpaceX, and am still much too green of a novice to ever discern whether or not that was ever a wise/prudent option even now. We are talking about Musk after all, God only knows what's capable of happening with his name tied to it - given his connections with Trump and now being the world's first trillionaire. I can only surmise how much it all went to his head...
Can anyone offer any good advice on where to put $1000 right now, whether it's a certain stock, ETF, or something similar, for a long-term (10 or more years) yielding? Should I put it into SpaceX if it's early enough still, or is there a much wiser, more potentially lucrative option at the moment?
In all candor, my goal is to eventually attempt to earn enough in the 10+ years to follow to pay off my dad's home. He has saved my life multiple times, and we both struggle financially while both of us, especially him, are growing ever-older. It's the very least I could do before something happens to him.
Permit me to make it blatantly apparent to all who read this before the nasty comments come spewing out, I am not looking for some charity case handout or some get-rich-quick magic pill scenario, so please refrain from and spare me those comments. I am simply seeking something that will permit my father and I to no longer have to sweat and fret when it comes to finances, and constantly worrying about facing homelessness.
I would really appreciate any genuine advice, free of the negativity and/or judgments right about now. And sorry if this is the umpteenth time you've seen a question like this, please spare me the chastising, bashing, and negative comments how somehow I'm living in fantasy land or something, or how I should have done more independent research, etc. If you are free of an over-inflated ego and excessive pride, and have it in you to answer honestly and without being judgemental, it would mean the world. My dad and I both struggle with enough physical and cognitive ailments combined to not have to worry 24/7 about having to succumb to m financial qualms. And selling the home is only a very last resort, this has been his "forever home" for ages and change is very difficult psychologically for both of us.
I appreciate any sage advice, I only need a little nudge in the right direction to get me going please.
