Investor summaryNeutral

Author wants to reduce high tech exposure by selling some MSFT and AMZN, despite believing in their long-term value.

Bull points
  • MSFT and AMZN are considered good long-term holds.
  • Portfolio performs well on good market days.
Bear points
  • High tech exposure leads to significant drawdowns on bad days.
  • MSFT has underperformed recently this year.
Post body

The bulk of my portfolio is VOO, QQQM, MSFT and AMZN. I know both the funds already have both individual tech stocks in them, so my tech exposure is high. On the good days, it’s great, but the not so good days (especially since MSFT hasn’t had a good day yet this year it seems) it takes a hit. I’m thinking of selling a bunch of my MSFT and AMZN to limit my exposure and will have long term capital gains to figure out. I do believe both are good long term holds though, so I’m wondering what you would recommend (non-tech related ETF/MF) to get into and buy and hold. Or, just ride it out like I am now. Curious about your thoughts.
