Offered 25x MRR to sell my mobile apps. Take the cash and go into AI/robotics stocks?

Investor summaryNeutral

Author considers selling his mobile app portfolio for 25x MRR to reinvest in AI and robotics stocks.

Bull points
  • AI and robotics themes have a long runway ahead
  • 25x MRR is a rich valuation for app revenue, presenting a strong exit opportunity
Bear points
  • Selling a self-built business means losing a familiar and potentially cash-flowing asset
Post body

I built and grew a small portfolio of mobile apps over the past few years (some of that journey is in my post history). It wasn't easy, and I'm attached to them. But I just got an offer to sell for \~25x revenue, around $520k.

That multiple feels rich for app revenue, and part of me wants to take it and redeploy into public equities, mostly the AI and robotics names I think have a long runway ahead.

So I'm torn: hold something I built and understand, or take a strong exit and ride a theme I'm bullish on. Would you take the cash and make the switch?
