NIO recently released new product information, confirming that the five-seater version of its large ES8 SUV will officially open for pre-orders on June 28th.

According to the brand's information, the new vehicle features a seating configuration that expands from two plus three to five seats, maintaining the interior design and component configuration virtually identical to the current models. The seats are adorned with diamond-pattern piping, significantly enhancing the interior's quality. A notable improvement in storage space is the addition of a removable, layered partition in the trunk, offering much greater practicality compared to the previous six- and seven-seater models.

In terms of performance, the new ES8 features a 900V high-voltage electrical architecture for all scenarios, with a dual-motor setup at the front and rear. The 180kW induction motor mounted at the front is paired with a 340kW silicon carbide permanent magnet motor mounted at the rear, resulting in a combined peak output of 520kW and 700Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.97 seconds. The vehicle is equipped with a 102kWh battery, offering a CLTC range of up to 635km, and features an integrated 6.6kW high-power external discharge function. The chassis is fitted with a dual-chamber air suspension, with an adjustable height range of -50mm to +50mm. At the standard suspension height, the minimum ground clearance is 165mm. With the suspension in its lowest setting, the second-row step is 380 mm from the ground, making it easy for passengers to get in and out. The vehicle has a wading depth of up to 650 mm and features new CDC shock absorbers with external valves. It is equipped with NIO's 4D multi-domain navigation system, which includes intelligent automatic hill leveling. Its minimum turning radius is just 5.7 meters, making urban driving and U-turns a breeze.
