How many of the SPCX posts are real?

Investor summaryBearish

Author doubts Reddit complaints about SPCX's crash are real, citing obvious overvaluation and calling posts attention-seeking tactics.

Bear points
  • The stock's valuation is considered crazy and garbage based on high-quality online analysis.
  • The crash was widely anticipated on Reddit due to its obvious overvaluation.

Post body

Given the trajectory of the stock so far, (to the moon, and back to earth - like a reusable rocket) every investing thread on Reddit is filled with every flavour of moron posting “Y SpaceX crash tho?”

I don’t think any of these are real, but curious to get your thoughts. My reasons:

  1. Everyone KNEW SpaceX was garbage. There was a wealth of high-quality analysis online about the crazy valuation.
  2. Even if they didn’t know, the people posting have a Reddit account. Anyone with a Reddit account saw this coming because their feed was FLOODED with information about why SpaceX was garbage.
  3. Even if they didn’t see it coming, they wouldn’t be posting about it now. Again, anyone with a Reddit account would know that Reddit users won’t validate them.

What I think is actually going on: we live in an attention economy. If people are talking about SpaceX, they aren’t talking about other stocks. It’s the 🥭 tactic circa 2016 - all publicity is good publicity. As long as they keep talking about you and not the other candidates, you win.

Curious to get your thoughts.
