Too tired of volatility
Tired of portfolio volatility, considering a simple 50/50 long-term allocation in GOOGL and AMZN.
- Seeking long-term compounding over short-term market beating
- Viewing mega-cap tech as a simpler alternative to high-risk stocks
- Expressed fatigue with portfolio volatility and past high-risk stock chasing
I'm getting really tired of volatility.
My portfolio has been swinging around too much, and I don't think I want to keep chasing high-risk stocks anymore.
I'm considering selling everything and moving into a much simpler portfolio.
Right now, I'm thinking about going 50/50 into Google and Amazon, then not looking at it until at least next year.
My time horizon is 5+ years, and I'm more interested in long-term compounding than trying to beat the market every month.
What are your thoughts on a 50/50 Google and Amazon allocation?
Would you choose different companies instead, or would you just buy an index fund?
I'd appreciate any opinions from people who have held these stocks through multiple years.
