Prices advertised vs actual price

Investor summaryNeutral

User questions if an Alibaba seller directing them to buy a sample via an Amazon storefront is a red flag.

Bear points
  • Sellers on the platform may act as middlemen or arbitrageurs rather than direct factories, degrading the B2B sourcing experience.
  • Platform quality control or seller authenticity might be questionable, prompting user suspicion.
Post body

I am somewhat new to e-commerce and Alibaba and when discussing prices and samples for a few products the seller suggested that I purchase them from an Amazon storefront instead of through their factory's distribution network in China, is this a red flag or is this a somewhat common practice?

Just for clarification, this was for a sample of a product not a large bulk order.
