Post body

After building an AI trading bot with pricing data from alpaca markets and having it study macro data and options flow: here is my success and struggles.

Success: my bot filters a large amount of data to give me callouts. It has 10 main scoring factors, and it needs a minimum of 5 to send an alert. This look at things like EMAs, VWAP, key price levels, SMA, etc. It looks over IWM, SPY & QQQ. I am developing it to look over some single tickets, but the amount of data it filters is insane. Here is a snippet of what an alert may look like. It’s impossible for me to look over all the charts and see everything. That is a feature that is with all AI tools - something that would take me hours get sent in minutes as alerts to my phone. my win rate and profits have increased exponentially since.

Cons: data is expensive and there is always a slight lag. By the time data is sent, digested and scored, the entry may not be worth it. I will never trust AI completely with my trades and capital, so there is always a human aspect. The bot may not know if the market environment is choppy that day, etc. it does look at earnings reports and macro reports as shown above, and does factor that into its pricing. This has been the most challenging but rewarding projects I’ve done.

For those who are building something similar, or anyone wants to just chat comment/DM! I will always believe that with no statistical edge in the market you won’t win.
